Question of the day: will Lieberman’s endorsement help McCain?
I’m already on record predicting that John McCain will ultimately take the GOP nomination. To pat myself on the back, I made the prediction back before newspaper endorsements in Iowa and Boston caused the possibility of a McCain comeback to become the new Beltway conventional wisdom.
So, how will Joe Lieberman’s expected endorsement of McCain play into this? Personally, I’d love to say that it won’t help McCain a bit — and may even hurt him — such is my disgust with Holy Joe: but I can’t, because I honestly think it will help: it may not win any votes directly, but it will give the media narrative of a surging BIG JOHN a few more days to percolate. And that could help him a lot.
(As to what the Democrats should do about Joe the Traitor, well, that’s a different question, now isn’t it? But feel free to comment on that as well.)
But as to the question posed in the title above, what do you think? Will Lieberman’s endorsement help McCain?

As you said, Steve, it will get a lot of media coverage, which will bring McCain back into the spotlight. That is usually a plus, if it is something positive ( and quite often, even if negative.)Speaking of Jiltin’ Joe, most people with functioning neurons should have figured out by now , that Joe is a Rethug. He calls himself Independent, but that’s a joke. The man has not an ounce of integrity. Nevertheless, his controversiality gets him media space, so McCain will benefit from a fellow Rethug giving him an endorsement. It isnt like a true Democrat has actually done so. Bad breath is better than no breath at all. Jiltin’ Joe is bad breath, but he gets attention. However, I think it will help McCain more in New Hampshire than in Iowa.

And I care because…?

I don’t understand how a turncoat can help anything or anyone.
McCain is a loser and so is Joe. Whether it gets a lot of media coverage or not, to answer the question, No, I don’t belive so. Nothing can help McCain.
My other opinion, no matter who gets the nod from the GOP to run for Presdient, a Democrat will win and will win for quite a few years to come!

After losing to Lamont in the primary, Joe “Al, Don’t Argue with the Supreme Court, Lieberman, flew down to south Florida to get a boost in campaign funding. Not really sure what the connection might be; can you say, “Likkud Party?” But Lieberman’s connections will help McCain with fundraising and exposure. And maybe even some clandestine intelligence gathering on other candidates by the MOSAD.

Chuck is building up to a big rant….I can feel it.
Lieberman (sigh) (’nother big sigh)
That man has been a thorn is our side since 2000. He is/was/will be a traitor in our midst.
Does it help McCain? Maybe, but the media alreay loves him. I see him on the Sunday shows more than anyone else. If lieberman can back it up with money, that would help McCain. Like Larkrise said, it might help in new Hampshire. And maybe S. Carolina will have guilt pangs about 2000 and give him their votes?
My feelings about loserman color my thoughts so his endorsement is more a slap in the face of democrats that anything else.

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were
Met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
‘In honor of this holy season’ Saint Peter
Said, ‘You must each possess something that
Symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven.’
The first man fumbled through his pockets
And pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. ‘It
Represents a candle’, he said. ‘You may
Pass through the pearly gates’ Saint Peter
Said.
The second man reached into his pocket and
Pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and
Said, ‘They’re bells.’ Saint Peter said ‘You
May pass through the pearly gates’.
The third man started searching
Desperately through his pockets and finally
Pulled out a pair of women’s panties.
St. Peter looked at the man with a raised
Eyebrow and asked, ‘And just what do
Those symbolize?’
The man replied, ‘These are Carols.’

My roomie says I should do something constructive today………..yeah.

From Steve: No, we missed the worst of it.

Hope: I’m not going to rant anymore. At least not for a while. I’m going to concentrate on writing short short stories like the O.K Lunch one. My brother calls them Tall Tales, but it is the way I remember them. (Kinda.)

Dear alwayshope,
We had about 6 inches of snow on top of about 2inches already there. Our very kind neighbor used his snowblower on our driveway. I stayed in for 2 days, then went outside today. I hate winter and such cold weather. I feed the birds and nearly freeze, even wrapped up in layers.
It was on national news about my Congressional representative, Julia Carson. She passed away on Sat. after a battle with lung cancer. She voted against the war in Iraq, one of the few brave Democrats to do so. She never forgot about the average Jane and Joe. She always answered my letters and e-mails. She will be greatly missed. I am thankful we had her for the time that we did. She truly cared about her constituents.
