Like Evan Bayh, who pretends he is a Democrat, Lieberman pretends he is an Independent. Both are Rethuglicans. Now, Bayh has poured his poison down Obama’s throat and Obama is thanking him for doing so by instituting a spending freeze in a deep recession. Evidently, Obama has failed to study history to any extent. He has ignored the lessons of Vietnam, and ignores the lessons of Afghanistan, and is ignoring the lessons of FDRs mistake in the late 30’s. Politicians suffer from attention deficit disorder. Every responsible economist I have heard on TV is decrying Obama’s gimick. The guy is already saying he doesnt care if he is a one-term President. I think that was his intention to begin with. He just keeps digging the hole deeper and deeper.

Well, I watched the State of the Union; and, as usual, was seduced by Obama’s speech. I just hope he can accomplish all he says he will do. We desperately need some positives in these dark times.
